I truly believe that beauty, skin care and hair care all revolve around your diet and exercise. However, irritation from harsh chemicals, clothing, alcohol, sweat rubbing against your skin/hair in tight clothing, weather changes, weekend late night fried food... are all contributing factors and examples as to why our skin and hair sometimes has small hiccups. In no way do I think there is anything wrong with that, it is all just the natural ways that our body is reacting to the way that we treat it.

I have a very limited medicine cabinet when it comes to my beauty routine, I really do not like spending (wasting) money on different makeups and beauty trends because they all seriously add up. I go for a very minimal set of (mostly) non-toxic items that I use on a daily basis. That of which include...

  • Natural deodorant
  • Face moisturizer
  • Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser for face wash
  • The only makeup I ever use: Loreal Lash Paradise Mascara (identical to Too Faced "Better Than Sex" but $8.99 instead of $30)
  • CLAY MASKS!!!!

Clay Masks

I can not recommend these high enough. I bought this stuff off of amazon for $12 and the absolutely incredible effects it gives off are worth every penny. I put this in my hair for the first time the other night and immediately regretted it because it was a bitch to get out. I woke up the next morning with luscious flowing locks and can not wait to get it all over my hair again in a few weeks. Originally, I found this to help "detoxify" my armpits after switching from a regular/toxic deodorant to all natural. In the switch, the skin all around my armpits was irritated and painful. I read up on the switch and everyone recommended rubbing the mask all over your armpits for 10 minutes to help get all the toxins out. That it did. The pain went away, my sweating has actually decreased and the body odor that comes out is way less fragrant. All you have to do is mix 1 part clay with 2 parts Apple Cider Vinegar (or water) until you reach desired consistency. Rub on your skin/hair/anywhere that needs a little extra love and let sit until dry for 10 minutes. Wash off in the shower once dried and admire all the positive effects!
