Yoga Teacher Training

I am currently in the process of 200 hour yoga teacher training through Free To Be Power Yoga, the only Baptiste Institute certified yoga studio in New Orleans. If you have not heard of Baptiste style yoga (which a lot of people have not), I highly encourage you to look it up! The style of Baptiste yoga completely transforms your mind and body, shaping you into the best version of yourself. I am so excited to be able to teach this style of yoga that centers around 3 parts: Movement (53 poses that makes up 1 full sequence), Meditation and Inquiry.

I absolutely love this style of yoga - it is incredibly challenging and truly pushes me to my limits (these classes will get your heart rate up and your core tight!).

Through this process of yoga teacher training I am not only learning this practice, I am learning more about myself through inquiry work. It is physically and emotionally draining, and an absolutely incredible experience.

I have already started practice teaching by giving free yoga classes to friends. My goal after all of this time and money spent getting my certification, is to have the skill to make yoga accessible, fun and free for friends, family and strangers alike. I want to use this tool to encourage others to take time to move, meditate and do inquiry work in their own lives.

At the beginning of training, we had to write our letter to ourselves for what we would want to say once graduated, here is what I wrote… “Yoga brought you so much into your every-day life. Yoga has transformed your abilities such as patience, trusting, listening, and confidence. Your friendships are better, your relationship is the best it's ever been, you are more patient with your family and coworkers. You still absolutely love your job and are so happy that your boss allows you time to prioritize yourself. Meditation has become a part of your daily routine and you are better for it. You have created a space in your tiny French Quarter apartment that makes you feel calm and safe. You created a tool to better yourself and others. You are formulating your own side hustle and The Cure for Me is going to become a life changing business not only for you but for many others. At the beginning of 2018 you set a goal for yourself to change one person’s life. I am so proud of you and cannot wait to see how many other’s lives you will change in the years to come!”

I ask you, reader: What is holding you back? What do you gain from not doing that THING? What do you lose? Think about this today, not needed anything to change. Just bringing a more conscious effort into your wants.
